A little bit of an update. I've been in Salt Lake/Provo for the last week and Dayne joined me (thankfully!) on Wednesday. So far we've been to Temple Square, all around BYU and today my brother Adam graduated from BYU in Construction Management. His wife Anna is very glad to be out of here. I'm just guessing but I think I'm right...
Since Adam's graduation was at 8 am, meaning we had to wake up at 5:30 to get ready, drive and get a good seat, his college provided breakfast for everyone afterwards. That meant all the cinnamon rolls, bagels, orange juice, milk and BYU chocolate milk that you can eat. And if anyone knows me, you know I LOVE BYU chocolate milk. And to get it for free made it that much sweeter. I am now a big supporter of BYU's School of Technology.
On a side note, I ran into the wonderful Karon May the other day at University Mall. She is still sweet and beautiful, and for anyone that knows her - she does not look 4 months pregnant. I look more pregnant than her, and believe me, I'm not. So here's to the blessed Karon.
And I forgot the usb cord for my camera, so pics will have to wait until I get home.

A little disgusted, actually a lot disgusted...
With Dayne being gone every Wednesday night for Young Men's, I have taken to watching America's Next Top Model - only because television today is pretty pathetic and so my choices are limited (I'm not watching wife swap and I've never been into game shows and I don't have cable). This blog wouldn't even be posted if I did something more productive with my time. But as it is...
Last night the contestants had a challenge that included going to a designer's studio and "walking" the designer's clothes. The designer would then critique how the model walked, what she looked like and if she would actually higher the model for a show. One of the models on the show is considered a plus size model and when she stands next to the other models you think "yeah, she's definitely a plus size." Granted when I think plus size I'm thinking larger than the average woman. The plus size model is Whitney. I think she is beautiful.
She walked for the designer and I think she's the best on the show. However the designer said she prefers size 2 models and she doesn't really design for "plus size." Keep in mind that the contestants for the this show have to be over 5'8'' and all are a size 2. How that is phsyically possible, I'm not sure. What made me mad is what the designer said about not designing for plus size women when she herself was a middle-aged woman who wouldn't fit into her own designs. Now here's the kicker. Whitney, the plus sized model, is a size 10! Doesn't that seem incredibly healthy and normal for a woman over 5'8"?! And doesn't she look gorgeous?! Especially when the average woman is less than 5'4" and 150 pounds. Don't most of us wish we could fit into our size 10 jeans, if not smaller? And the designer doesn't design for plus size women? Who the heck does she design for?! And I, a 5'3" woman am still wearing a size 12.
Below is Fatima and she's typical of the rest of the models on the show. Doesn't she look scary in a "my bones will snap any minute" kind of way. Yet she is the body type designers create for. And the average woman (which I very much am) is supposed to look to her for fashion inspiration?
I know this debate on fashion and weight will never end or be positively solved - but aren't you still disgusted? I must say I was a bit ashamed to be supporting Top Model last night. And I love Tyra Banks, but she's scary in some of her pictures...

Yay, Go Me!
I just thought I'd let everyone in on the good news. When I was pregnant with Leilani I gained 40 pounds and only lost 20 of them afterwards. I was stuck at 158 for a long time. But as of today I've officially lost 8 pounds! Woohoo!. Now I only have 12 more to go at a minimum. Here's hopin'...
