Many things have happened in the last few weeks that I've thought "I need to blog that" but alas it did not happen. I think this happens to many of us more often than not. But here are a few things that stuck out.
Today we had a surprise 13th birthday party for Monil. Yes that is Rob Pattinson aka Edward Cullen on her birthday cake. I'm pretty sure she liked it. More exciting, however, is that Dayne and I found our dream get-away. Only wrinkle in the plan is getting it from its current owners.

We drove 2 hours east to party with Monil and all her friends. The cabin belongs to a family friend and we're so excited they let us come. This place had everything. A roomy and comfy cabin, extra house on property for sleeping, lots of large beautiful trees, swings and hammocks hanging from trees, pond, paddle boat, go-cart, four-wheelers, playground, cows and mules, world's friendliest dog, pavilion, volleyball net, game room with every game and activity imaginable, and very large big screen tv with satellite. Plenty of room and activities for the whole family. This is exactly what Dayne and I would like to have for all our extended family and friends. This place has been well thought out and improved by the owners.
The girls and daddy on the dock feeding the catfish.

One of the awesome tree swings. There is something innately different in swinging from a tree than a playset.

Playset. Cows were behind us.

Cabin - future home.

This happened last week. It is what occurs when you try to ignore your children while watching a movie and the 9-month-old gets into the left-over Easter candy the 2-year-old was playing with. She was literally laughing in our face at her triumph.

And an expensive mistake. We hyper-extended my back door (on accident) which bent the key pieces that hold my door up. Meaning we had to remove those pieces so the door could close but then it could not be opened again. After a week of waiting and limiting all grocery shopping to what could fit in the front seat, the parts came in and wonderful hubby fixed it in 10 minutes flat. Note - be mindful of the power of your garage door. We did not suspect that ours had enough strength to lift my car door which is extremely heavy. You've been warned.

In other news, Dayne finally made it back from two long weekends of Woodbadge training and I am currently recovering from strep throat. I haven't been sick in 15 years, and all of a sudden I'm getting hit left and right. Ava finally got her first tooth and she is not a good teether - let's just say cranky.

I didn't know it was even possible to hyper extend the door. Will keep that one in mind for sure.
Hope you get to feeling better!
I MISS YOU GUYS SOOOOOO MUCH!! Sorry you aren't feeling well--get better soon!
